Abstract
In recent decades, the issue of homosexuality has gained strength with recent legislation in favor of respecting the human rights of vulnerable populations, coupled with the increasing social movements of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual [LGBT] population. . The search for solutions to various problems such as hate crimes and social discrimination have been generated worldwide depending on each country and the laws they handle regarding sexual orientation. Education for Peace has been a relevant paradigm for addressing diverse socio-cultural conflicts; Gay men have suffered consequences in a certain margin of sociocultural discrimination when expressing themselves in public space, object of stigmatization, violence, hate crimes, ridicule and violation of human rights, even considering the legislation in their favor in the country. The relevance of professionally supporting the development of resilient and coping strategies, allowed establishing the objective of this intervention to analyze the changes in coping strategies through a psychoeducational program with a perspective of Education for Peace in homosexual men through of the case analysis. With a qualitative perspective in a phenomenological interpretive framework with a person with a homosexual orientation in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. Eight psychoeducational sessions were implemented to strengthen coping strategies and some pre-intervention indicators were analyzed as support using the Coping Strategies Inventory with significant results.
