“Comercio Informal en el Espacio Urbano de Ciudad Juárez, Chih. México: El Caso de los Mercados Populares 2016-2017”

In the informal sector, exists fragile and flexible labor relations that are carried out through verbal hiring and resignations. These agreements are not regulated by any legal document or institutional norm, leaving most of the population in vulnerable conditions which are employed in informality. This research puts in context the informal commercial activities, taking as a case study the popular markets in Ciudad Juárez, Chih. México, which represent the largest agglomerations of irregular commerce, these are developed in public places, private spaces and in marginalized areas around the industrialized cities. Through a historical and economic background study it analyzed the conformation of popular markets and how, starting from the income inequality, more and more people are employed under conditions of informality or within the informal sector. The bases of informal markets are also considered, their current participation in urban productive processes, the characteristics of their environment that allow development and permanence in low-income communities of cities in current development.
